Sanjay Gupta is prepping to direct his next film, Miranda Boys, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Meezaan Jaaferi. As a director, Gupta will try his hand at a new genre: sports drama. The filmmaker said that it is a football narrative set in Goa with a lot of drama. And now it's been revealed that Gupta has completed a significant portion of the film with a 25-day schedule in Goa.
A source connected to the project revealed, “Over 80 percent of the film has been wrapped up already and it’s just some bits of patch work that remains before calling it a film wrap. The pending portions will be shot soon, but in the meantime, Gupta has already started work on the postproduction of this film.”
While there have been reports that Miranda Boys is a straight-up sports drama, there is now additional information regarding the plot. According to our source, this film, like many Sanjay Gupta films, revolves around two protagonists and their ego clashes. “Though there’s football in the backdrop, the core story is about how two brothers chose different path in the same strata of working sphere. Much like the quintessential dramatic films, this one too has a strong under current of emotions revolving around the mother,” continued the source.
Sanjay Gupta is known for films such as Shootout at Wadala (2013), Kaabil (2017), and Jazbaa (2015), to name a few. In addition, the director is working on the third instalment of his Shootout franchise, which he plans to start shooting soon. With Bhushan Kumar, he is also producing Visfot. Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan star in the horror film. Actress Sahher Bambba also plays a key role in Miranda Boys.
