Beauty and grace are what comes to our mind when we watch Neetu Kapoor on celluloid. She started her career as a child artist and ruled Bollywood in the 70s. When she was just six years old, she made her acting debut in Suraj. She made her move to more mature parts with the vigilante movie Rickshawala. Her breakthrough performance was in the masala movie Yaadon Ki Baaraat by Nasir Hussain.
Later, her on-screen relationship with Rishi Kapoor helped establish them as a well-known Bollywood pair, and they went on to star in over 11 movies together, including Rafoo Chakkar and Khel Khel Main. Her biggest hits during that time, though, were Deewar, Kaala Patthar, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Kabhi Kabhie. In less than a decade, Neetu became a Bollywood superstar, starring in more than 70 movies and giving legendary performances in a number of blockbusters.
Neetu Kapoor tied the knot with Rishi Kapoor in the year 1980. After being a part of the suspense movie Ganga Meri Maa, she took a break to concentrate on her marriage. She made her acting comeback almost three decades later with a small part in the comedy Love Aaj Kal. Since then, she has starred in the comedies Do Dooni Chaar and Besharam.
After Besharam, the actress once again went on a hiatus, but she is all set to return to the big screen with her new film Jugjugg Jeeyo. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about how she is ready to act more, and said, “It keeps you busy, it is like a job. Acting is my occupation. What else can I do? I am all alone. Nobody lives with me. Both my children are married. So, what do I do? I’d be very sad thinking about my past and my husband. So, I decided that it is better to be busy, kaam karte raho, dil behel jaataa hai. So, it is a good thing.”
