A fresh government statement will send Indians rushing to the banks to cash in their pink note, often known as the Rs 2000 money, after they were in a frenzy on November 8, 2016 to get rid of the Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes they held. Additionally, jokes about the scenario are all over Twitter and feature actors like Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Harvardhan Rane, and many others.
The Reserve Bank of India removed bank notes with a face value of Rs 2,000 from circulation some time ago. The RBI has also instructed banks to stop issuing banknotes with a value of Rs 2,000 right away. The notes will continue to be a valid form of payment until September 30, 2023.
On social media, this information spread like wildfire, and Twitter was inundated with memes. Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Harvardhan Rane, Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Dutt, and others are appearing in some inventive memes with the hashtag #Rs2000.
Having a cheeky grin together Raju, played by Akshay Kumar, appears in the ‘Hera Pheri’ movie in a meme about the demise of the Rs 2,000 note. One user wrote, “#RBI announced withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes. Le people who use UPI.”
