Hrithik Roshan has been in the spotlight because of his upcoming film 'War 2', in which he will star opposite Jr. NTR in an all-out battle. He fought Tiger Shroff in the first part. At one point in his career, though, Hrithik Roshan turned down the lead role in not one but two hero movies.
The Krrish actor turned down many major roles since they both included playing a hero. 'Main Hoon Naa', directed by Farah Khan, is one example. Hrithik was recruited to portray the role of Laxman opposite Shah Rukh Khan's Ram in the film. The actor, though, turned down the role.

Hrithik Roshan played SRK's brother in Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham, directed by Karan Johar, and the two actors had great chemistry onscreen. Is that why Hrithik turned down 'Main Hoon Naa's' offer?
Farah Khan aimed to replicate the iconic connection between Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan from their K3G performance. That's why she wanted them to play Ram and Laxman in her first film, titled Main Hoon Naa. Despite the popularity of K3G, Hrithik turned down the offer because he was unwilling to shoot another film with two leads.
According to reports, “Farah had approached Hrithik for Zayed Khan’s role in her directorial. Of course, the actor shared good chemistry with King Khan in Karan Johar’s 'Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham' and Farah felt he was apt to play his brother on screen once again. However, he rejected it on his father Rakesh Roshan’s advice. The filmmaker believed his son shouldn’t invest his time in two hero movies as it may hamper his career in the future. Since he already had one multi-starrer in his kitty, he should focus on solo releases more.”
Farah could see where Hrithik was coming from with his rejection, and she was fine with it. Sohail Khan and Abhishek Bachchan were both potential candidates to replace Laxman in her mind. However, Zayed Khan ended up being the lucky recipient.

'War' and 'Vikram Vedha', Hrithik Roshan's two most recent films, are both hero flicks. His upcoming projects include Sidharth Anand's 'Fighter' and the two-hero film 'War 2'. The K3G actor is expected to play Raavan in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana', which will star Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and is thus expected to be a two-hero film once again.
