‘I am single today because of him,’ Tabu on Drishyam co-star Ajay Devgn
Fans have consistently given Tabu accolades for her films, and in her most recent smash hit, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022), the actress stunned audiences with exceptional performance in a double role.
The 90s saw some of the most flawless performances from Tabu and Ajay Devgn, one of the most iconic on-screen couples. With films like Vijaypath (1994), Drishyam (2015), Golmaal Again (2017), and De De Pyaar De (2019), the two have captivated the audience with their chemistry. Off-screen, the actors were incredibly close growing up and had an "unconditional affection" for one another.
In a recent interview, the Haider (2014) actress opened up on her bond with Devgn and why he is the reason she is single today. She revealed, “He was my cousin Sameer Arya’s neighbour and close buddy, a part of my growing up years, and that has laid the foundation of our relationship. When I was young, Sameer and Ajay would spy on me, follow me around and threaten to beat up any boys who were caught talking to me. They were the big bullies and if I am single today, it is because of Ajay. I hope he repents and regrets what he did.”
Tabu went on to say that she didn't settle down because she was already a part of Ajay's family. "Doston ki family apni family hai," she said.
Devgn and Tabu are set to share screen space once again in Drishyam 2. The film is set to release on 18th November, 2022.
