'I just felt happy knowing I made Alia happy,' Neetu Kapoor on arranging surprise sangeet ceremony for her
More than a month has passed since the marriage of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia and even today the pictures of their wedding remain in the headlines. Fans were very happy as soon as the pictures of their wedding came and praised them both. The wedding of the lovebirds was one of the most talked about events in B-Town. After a two-day private wedding celebration that featured mehendi and sangeet, the couple tied the knot.
In a recent interview, the veteran actress and mother of Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, had said that the surprise dance at the duo's sangeet was her idea.
Despite the time constraints, she stated that they rehearsed for a day. She also expressed an interest in performing the Gidda, a Punjabi traditional dance. They did Gidda and then danced to modern music, according to the actress, following which Ranbir Kapoor joined them.
Speaking further, the veteran actress said that her daughter-in-law Alia Bhatt was surprised. “Even Alia was surprised because she did not know we were going to do this. It was a surprise for her. It was very nice. If we had more time, I would have made sure everyone was there and everyone danced,” said Kapoor.
She said with a sigh that she could not do much. “But this time we did whatever we could due to less time, but it was still nice. Both Ranbir and Alia had fun. I just felt happy knowing I made Alia happy,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Neetu Kapoor will star alongside Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, and Anil Kapoor in Jug Jugg Jeeyo.
