Imtiaz Ali casts Diljit Dosanjh to play Amar Singh Chamkila in biopic
It is said that Diljit Dosanjh will also perform some original songs written by Amar Singh Chamkila.

According to reports, Diljit Dosanjh has been roped in to play the lead role in an upcoming biographical drama. Yes, the actor will reportedly play renowned Punjabi artist Amar Singh Chamkila in his biopic. Well-known filmmaker Imtiaz Ali will helm the yet-to-be-titled project.
Earlier, rumours were rife that Ayushmann Khurrana and Kartik Aaryan were approached for the same role. However, it seems Dosanjh has been finalised for the same. An official announcement is highly awaited though.
Not much else is known about the forthcoming project at the moment, but some publications report that Dosanjh will also perform some original songs written by Chamkila. The film’s plot will revolve around Chamkila’s love life, controversies, music, and assassination.
Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh has also signed a Netflix web-series, set to be directed by Raj & DK. The untitled show also stars Rajkumar Rao and Adarsh Gourav. While Rao has confirmed his association with the filmmaker duo, the team is yet to confirm Dosanjh and Gourav’s casting.
