Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are one of Bollywood's most famous couples. Last year, they celebrated three decades of marriage after initially facing opposition from her family. In interviews, Shah Rukh has frequently discussed his relationship with Gauri Khan. In one of these interviews from the 1990s, Shah Rukh disclosed that his lazy Sundays begin with his wife scolding him.
An old interview that recently resurfaced showed Shah Rukh sitting down for a conversation with Farida Jalal, with whom he has collaborated on Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and many other films. During the interview, Farida questioned Shah Rukh to describe a traditional off-day with his family. "It's a Sunday, I sleep very late at night, so I get up late in the morning," Shah Rukh responded. The first thing I hear when I wake up is a scolding from my wife about how much I've worked for the past 6 days, how little I've been home, and how I haven't paid attention to her."
He further added “When I tell her, 'look Gauri, I’m very tired,' she just says, ‘Nothing! I don’t want to hear anything.’ When she stops scolding me, I look at her with very dreamy eyes, and tell her that 'you are looking very beautiful today.' As soon as I say that, she also says that 'you also look very tired today.' After that I’m king, I don’t shower at all on Sundays. I stay in bed, have Thums Up, chips. The TV is turned on, I watch a film.”
Shah Rukh and Gauri first met when she was 14 and he was 18. They dated for several years before marrying in a typical Hindu marriage ceremony in 1991. They have two sons, Aryan and Abram, and a daughter, Suhana.
Shah Rukh was most recently seen in Zero, a 2018 film co-starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Pathaan, which is set to be released on January 25th of next year, will be his first movie in five years. Deepika Padukone and John Abraham also star in the film, which will be launched in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
