Intelligence is overrated, wisdom is underrated: Ayushmann Khurrana

Versatile actor Ayushmann Khurrana has completed 10 years in Bollywood. His debut film Vicky Donor had released in 2012 and since then there has been no looking back for him. The Andhadhun (2018) actor has a knack of picking up the most 'hatke' script and then transforming it into a beautiful cinematic masterpiece through his brilliant acting skills.

Retrospecting, the actor feels humbled. "The last ten years have been incredible. I started out with small films which had big concepts and even today, I'm still evolving and learning... Sometimes you get more than what you expect," says Ayushmann.

Admitting that his choices made a difference to his career, he says- "You can change your destiny with your choices and by honing your crafts and skills. It's all in your own hands."

While the audiences may laud him for his intelligent choices in terms of scripts, Ayushmann feels it has more to do with wisdom than intelligence. "Intelligence is overrated, wisdom is underrated," he says.

An actor plays many roles throughout his career and there are times when it all becomes overwhelming; so much that a person starts losing his sense of individuality and identity. When asked for his take on this, Ayush says, "It all depends... I used to be a method actor when I was doing theatre. But when I became a host and later an actor, then I became more natural. Instead of getting overwhelmed by the character, I used to add something to it. Also, I never took the character back home. I can switch in and out of the onscreen personalities very easily. When cameras are off, I'm absolutely myself."

On the work front, Ayushmann Khurrana will next appear in Junglee Pictures's Doctor G (2022) as Dr Uday Gupta opposite Rakul Preet Singh. The film is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and marks his third collaboration with Junglee Pictures after Bareilly Ki Barfi and Badhaai Ho.

Khurrana will also be seen in Anubhav Sinha's action thriller titled Anek (2022).
