Nepotism is a topic that keeps hounding Bollywood every now and then. While everyone is entitled to have their opinion on the issue, late actor Irrfan Khan’s elder son Babil Khan has said that nepotism is very much real.
For the uninitiated, Babil is set to make his acting debut with Clean Slate Filmz’s upcoming production Qala, set at Netflix. Directed by Anvita Dutt, the film also stars Bulbbul (2020) actress Triptii Dimri in the lead role.
Babil said that he is grateful for all the opportunities that are coming his way, which would not have been there had he been a complete outsider.
“Pressure in itself is a privilege. The expectations from me are markers of my privilege. Either you can beat yourself up and feel guilty about it or accept it with humility and harness it into your work. I have chosen the latter. I am grateful for the opportunities that I know others won’t get as easily as I have. If I can’t use my privilege and justify it through my craft, it’d be such a waste,” said the young actor.
Qala, which is described as a “beautiful, heart-breaking story about a daughter who craves her mother’s love”, is produced by Karnesh Ssharma and Anushka Sharma.
