Is Oh My God 2 Release Delayed? Akshay Kumar Starrer Undergoes Review to Prevent Adipurush-Like Disaster?

Due to its spiritual and mythological setting, ‘Oh My God 2’ has drawn controversy. A sequel to the comedy-satire ‘Oh My God’, which similarly received criticism and stirred up controversy, stars Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi. The film is having problems with the Central Board before its eagerly anticipated release. According to reports, the planned release for August 11 has been postponed. In contrast, there are rumors that the film was submitted to the revising committee in order to prevent the reaction experienced by Prabhas' ‘Adipurush’.

The Central Board used greater caution as a result of the ‘Adipurush’ catastrophe, which featured bad dialogue and a mishandling of legendary characters. According to sources, CBFC is taking preventive action since it doesn't want what happened following the release of ‘Adipurush’ to happen again. The Central Board will refer films for correction if they center around themes like God and religion, the insider claims. It should not be the case with ‘OMG 2’ that people's feelings get damaged in the same way as Adipurush did.

‘Oh My God 2’ has reportedly been put out for evaluation. According to reports, the Examining Committee urged producers to purchase the picture after consulting the revising committee following the certification screening. According to a different source, the production team has denied these concerns and confirmed that the certification process is operating as intended. Will ‘Oh My God's’ release date be delayed as a result? The creators of ‘OMG 2’ and their team have not publicly confirmed this.

The movie ‘Oh My God 2’ is a follow-up to the 2012 film ‘OMG’, which starred Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar. The second part is focused on the Indian social structure's educational system. The ‘OMG 2’ teaser depicts Pankaj Tripathi as a devout Christian who is going through a difficult time in his life until Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva appears. Yami Gautam and Arun Govil both play major parts in the film.

Amit Rai is the director of the spiritual satire comedy, which Viacom 18, Cape of Good Films, and Wakaoo Films are working together to co-produce. The movie ‘Oh My God’ is slated to premiere in theaters on August 11th, 2023. At the box office, it will compete alongside Sunny Deol's ‘Gadar 2’ and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal.
