Jaane Jaan Trailer: Kareena Kapoor TURNS Murder Suspect In Sujoy Ghosh’s Film (Watch Video)

The much-anticipated Kareena Kapoor’s thriller movie ‘Jaane Jaan's’ trailer was released on Tuesday. The film, which is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and is based on the best-selling mystery book 'The Devotion of Suspect X,' also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma in supporting roles.

The trailer for the film gives you a glance into the unexplained activities in Kalimpong, the story's setting. In an effort to outwit one another, Maya (Kareena Kapoor Khan), Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat), and Karan (Vijay Varma) appear to manoeuvre through a tangle of feelings and unforeseen events.

In the movie, which is situated in the hill town of Kalimpong, Kareena plays Maya D'Souza. Maya's neighbour Naren suspects she may be in an abusive relationship since she sees signs of it. Jaideep plays the character of Naren in the movie, and the trailer paints him as a disturbing stalker. Vijay portrays the police officer Karan, who arrives in Kalimpong in search of Maya's missing husband and falls in love with her. Old friends Naren and Karan, he asks Naren about his "hot padosi," who also happens to be the main target of his inquiry.

‘Jaane Jaan’ appears to have been re-contextualized through the eyes of the main female character, with the maths teacher ostensibly portraying the killer, although the original story was recounted from the perspective of a clinical maths teacher who helped his neighbour cover up the murder of her husband. But it's unclear.

Sujoy is best known for his blockbuster thriller ‘Kahaani,’ which, together with ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘No One Killed Jessica’, helped make Vidya Balan a star. 2019's ‘Badla,’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, was his most recent theatrical release. Since then, he has directed episodes of the Netflix series ‘Typewriter’ and, most recently, a scene from the anthology movie ‘Lust Stories 2.’

Kareena last appeared in the epic drama ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, where her acting won plaudits despite the movie's poor box office result. Vijay has had a busy year, appearing in the crime series ‘Dhaakad’ and ‘Kaalkoot’ in addition to the short Sujoy's ‘Lust Stories 2’. The last time we saw Jaideep was in the movie ‘An Action Hero.’ On September 21, Kareena's birthday, ‘Jaane Jaan’ will be released.
