According to sources, Nayanthara said that she was very upset with Atlee because her role was chopped in the film and Deepika Padukone's character was elevated. The source further added that Nayanthara is upset that despite her being the female lead, the film essentially became a Deepika-SRK venture and she was sidelined.
The source also said that this may be the reason why Nayanthara did not attend any of the promotional events for 'Jawan', even in her hometown Chennai. She was also not physically present at the film's success meet while Deepika was.
However, it is important to note that Nayanthara has a famous no-promotion clause, which is present in all her film contracts.
