John Abraham was having a hard time because his movies weren't doing well at the theatres. Shah Rukh Khan's comeback movie turned out to be a huge success all over the world, and John also got the attention he earned. He was just as good as SRK, and he did a great job with his role as Jim. Now, the most recent thing we know is that the actor has quit Akshay Kumar's ‘Awara Pagal Deewana 2’ because of ‘Pathaan’.
For those who don't know, John's last success was Batla House in the year 2019. His dry spell ended with ‘Pathaan’, and things have changed a lot for the actor since then. Even though everyone is talking about Jim's spin-off, there is a chance that he could be a part of YRF's Spy Universe in the future. With all this going on, it looks like John is going to only work on adventure movies from now on.
According to a publication, John Abraham has already quit Sajid Khan's '100%', and he might also quit Akshay Kumar's ‘Awara Pagal Deewana 2’, which he was supposed to be in. The report says, “John was looking to diversify his line-up with comedy and masala entertainers too. In fact, he had signed on for ‘100%’ directed by Sajid Khan and was in advanced talks for ‘Awara Pagal Deewana 2’. But the success of Pathaan has changed it all and John isn’t in the mood to do a comedy film anytime soon. While he has backed out of 100%, the conversations of ‘Awara Pagal Deewana 2’ have taken a back seat with the makers already exploring other options.”
John Abraham isn't interested in comedy movies. Instead, he wants to do serious action movies and has already talked about the idea of a sequel to Jim's character from ‘Pathaan’. “The hunt is on and we would have an update on a film or two from John in a month’s time in this space. It’s also work in progress for a spin-off to his character of Jim and mostly, the film will go into production in the next two years. Yash Raj Films and John have discussed this idea and believe the character has enough potential to blow big,” the report states further.
If it's true, John Abraham has taken a big step. It will be interesting to see how his career goes from here on out.
