Kangana Ranaut, who is presently seen as the host of Lock Upp, referred to herself as a "superstar host" and boasted about her hosting abilities. She claims that many successful actors, such as Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar, and Ranveer Singh, have failed as hosts. She said that apart from her, Bigg Boss host Salman Khan, and Kaun Banega Crorepati host Amitabh Bachchan have been popular hosts.
She bragged about Lock Upp's achievement once more, naming her co-stars as unsuccessful hosts she said “Many successful actors have tried their hands on hosting like SRK, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh… they may have successful careers but they failed at hosting they are unsuccessful hosts, so far only Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji ,Salman Khan ji and Kangana Ranaut have achieved this glory to be a super star host… privileged to be in this league.”
Kangana said in an interview that she was hesitant with being a TV host and she had spoken about it with Ekta. She further added “I know I have a strong personality, but still, the amount of actors who have failed in hosting, especially those who have empowering personalities, intelligent views of the world. I thought I may be good but I will take time to get accepted and to get a hang of it."
Ekta Kapoor's Lock Upp airs seven days a week on Alt Balaji and MX Player, with Kangana's judgement day episode broadcasting on weekends. Kangana recently celebrated the show's 200 millionth view, after which she made an indirect jab at film director Karan Johar.
