Karan Johar set to announce Dharma Productions’ first ever action franchise

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is currently busy filming his next directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in and around Delhi, is set to announce an action franchise. This is the first time his production house, Dharma Productions, is stepping into the action space.

On Wednesday, Johar took to his Twitter handle and revealed that he will announce an action franchise on Thursday. “Dharma Productions is all set to announce their first ever action franchise film! Stay tuned, big announcement coming up tomorrow! apoorvamehta18 DharmaMovies,” read his tweet.

In the video shared by Johar, he revealed that the forthcoming action franchise will be with ‘a dashing face’. This makes all film enthusiasts wonder if the filmmaker is set to launch a new face or if he will rope in an established actor from the industry. It will be really interesting to see who headlines Dharma Productions’ first ever action franchise.

The 39-second video opens with the words ‘A kick of drama, a punch of thrill, followed by ‘A year of blood and sweat, a knockout story’. It ends with gunfire sounds making it abundantly clear that the film is going to offer a perfect dose of action and drama.

Meanwhile, Dharma Productions’ slate of upcoming films has a variety of interesting projects, including Brahmastra, Govinda Naam Mera, Dostana 2, Liger, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Dono Mile Iss Tarah, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, and Shakun Batra’s next.

Talking about Johar’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, the film is currently in production in Delhi. It boasts of an ensemble cast, including Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The film is set to enter theatres in 2022.
