It was recently found out that the famous director Karan Johar once made a shocking choice that made his father, Yash Johar, sad. In the 1970s and 1980s, Yash Johar was a well-known director. However, in the 1990s, several high-budget films that didn't do well cost him a lot of money. Some of Mahesh Bhatt's films, like 'Gumrah,' with Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt, and 'Duplicate,' with Shah Rukh Khan, lost a lot of money.

But 'Muqaddar Ka Faisla' was the movie that hurt Yash Johar's income the most. This big project came out in 1987. It starred Raj Kumar, Raj Babbar, Rakhee Gulzar, Meenakshi Sheshadri, and Tina Munim, among others. The movie turned out to be a huge disaster, though.

Karan Johar, Yash Johar's own son, added to his sadness by making him feel worse. Karan said, "I didn't want to see 'Muqaddar Ka Faisla' either!" The movie 'Mr. India' came out the same week. I made it clear that I would not miss 'Mr. India' to see 'Muqaddar Ka Faisla' under any circumstances. My father wasn't happy. I could tell from the way he looked. But when you're 16, all you want to do is what you want to do. Even the day after I chose 'Mr. India' over my dad's movie, I went to see 'Dance Dance: by B. Subhash."

The loss of 'Muqaddar Ka Faisla' hit Yash Johar's production company, Dharma Productions, hard, causing it to have a lot of trouble making money. But in 1998, Karan Johar took over and brought his dad's film company back to life. The turning point was when 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,' which was a huge hit, came out. Karan says, "When 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' was such a hit, I was so happy to see that smile back on my father's face. It was the time I was most proud of myself."

This situation shows how hard it can be for a father and son to get along in the movie business, where personal preferences and job choices can sometimes cause problems. Still, Karan Johar's drive and success in bringing Dharma Productions back to life brought his father a lot of happiness and was a big step in their journey together.
