Karan Johar wishes her goddaughter Alia Bhatt as she debuts as a producer with Netflix’s Darlings

Alia Bhatt is at the best phase in her life with back-to-back hit releases, her marriage with Ranbir Kapoor, mommy-to-be soon, and she also has Brahmastra which is going to be one of the biggest projects in Bollywood. To add to her basket another achievement is her debuting as a producer. The 29 years old actress is set to make her debut as a producer with the Netflix film Darlings which is going to premiere on August 5. Alia is also going to star in the film alongside Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Matthew.

Karan Johar who is like a father figure to the Raazi actress penned a note for Alia Bhatt and the film’s directors and producers. He wrote, “A debut director so assured that she sucks you into the vortex of #Darlings like a bonafide veteran! To balance humor (dark and conversational ) with a sensitive subject is a massive challenge in itself but the team of this nuanced noir and the exceptionally solid film takes it on and emerges victorious! So fun! So hard-hitting and so engaging! All at once!” Furthermore, Karan lauded the star cast and called it a ‘fantastic ensemble of the cast’. Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni, is another movie that Alia is eagerly anticipating. The flick is scheduled to release in theatres on September 9.
