In a recent interview, Kareena discussed how her sister Karisma Kapoor paved the way for her in the film industry.
During an interview with a top news outlet, Kareena revealed details about her sister Karisma Kapoor's career in the entertainment world. Despite people's skepticism, Karisma had to battle and work hard to establish herself.

"I think it was a lot easier for me because people started recognizing me as Karisma’s younger sister. I think hanging around on shoots, things started opening up at the time of 1998 or 1999 where everyone was like ‘Karisma’s sister is getting launched'."- the actress revealed.
Kareena discussed the criticisms made about Karisma's light eyes and how it was believed that actresses with light eyes couldn't become stars. Kareena, on the other hand, credits her sister for the exposure she earned while working on sets with her. Kareena further admits that because to the Kapoor family taboo, not many people initially supported Karisma.
She further added, "But she was kind of groundbreaking in so many ways that she just pushed herself, her dedication and hard work through all her films and she became the darling of the 90s. Her fans gave me a lot of love. She did a lot of commercial work and I chose an alternate path in Refugee. She was giving blockbusters. We kind of had different paths."
Karisma began her acting career at the age of seventeen with the film ‘Prem Qaidi’. ‘Jigar’, ‘Raja Babu,’ ‘Andaz’, ‘Raja Hindustani’, ‘Coolie No. 1’, ‘Hero No. 1’, and ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ are some of her well-known films.
Meanwhile, Karisma will appear in ‘Murder Mubarak’ alongside Vijay Varma, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Tisca Chopra. Homi Adajania directs the film.
