Ketan Mehta Takes A Dig At Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika’ Calling It ‘PATHETIC’, Says That The Script Was Changed! (Details Inside)

Kangana Ranaut has had disagreements with a number of Hindi film industry stars and directors. The contentious queen made news during the filming of her 2019 movie, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, for allegedly taking over the direction of the historical epic.

The actress eventually collaborated with Krish, who had initially directed the movie. The uproar started only after the movie became a tremendous smash, the actress had later claimed. In the most recent interview, Manikarnika's director Ketan Mehta attacked the movie, branding it "pathetic."

According to reports, Mehta unveiled a movie on Rani Lakshmi Bai in 2016 and chose Kangana Ranaut to play the Queen of Jhansi. But for reasons they understand better, the actress left, and the project was cancelled. Later, she co-directed the box office success Manikarnika.

Ketan Mehta recently stated, "It was very awful and heartbreaking. It had taken a lot of effort. To put it mildly, what was ultimately produced was pitiful. The whole thing was altered. An worldwide co-production was my project. It was about the maniacal pursuit of the Rani of Jhansi by British Generals. It had better balance. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi started to take on a patriotic and jingoistic tone.

Kangana Ranaut once told the reporters, "Manikarnika is out and fortunately or unfortunately, I have directed the film and have taken all the major decisions," during her presentation at the Mumbai airport. Nothing can be done to stop the film now that it has been released.
