KGF 2: Manoj Desai claims advance booking not allowed in Maratha Mandir; Yash aka Rocky Bhai assures help

The advance booking of tickets for Kannada superstar Yash's KGF Chapter 2 (2022) has created a frenzy ever since its inception on April 7. In just 12 hours, a record sale of over 1 lakh ticket was witnessed- an euphoric response never seen before. As of now, many more theatres have started advance booking owing to the encouraging trend.

However, Manoj Desai, the executive director of G7 multiplex and Mumbai's iconic Maratha Mandir Cinema, uploaded a video on social media where he claimed that he is not being allowed to start advance ticket bookings for the film in Maratha Mandir.

While the advance booking was underway at the Gaiety cinema of G7, the same was not allowed in Maratha Mandir, which is well-known single-screen theatre.

Another claim made by him was that single screens in all other cinema circuits have started selling tickets of KGF Chapter 2 but it’s only in Mumbai where they are being barred from the process.

When asked if there has been any impact after his video went viral on social media, Manoj Desai said, “Even now, we have not been allowed to open the bookings. Hopefully, we’ll be allowed to start the ticket sales from Monday. However, it has not been decided yet.”

Desai also revealed that he was contacted by KGF Chapter 2 star Yash who assured help. "Yash contacted me from Bengaluru." He told me ‘Manoj ji, main booking shuru karwa raha hoon’. "Lekin ab tak kuch ho nahin paayaa hai,” Desai adds.

Noteworthy, one of the most anticipated film releases of the year, KGF Chapter 2 marks the return of superstar Yash aka KGF’s Rocky to the big screen alongside a ensemble star cast which includes Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty.

The film is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur, under the Hombale Films banner. It is slated for a nationwide release on 14 April 14 2022 in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages.
