After getting married, actress Kiara Advani recently opened up about her experience dealing with online bullies. She admitted that she got angry when she was harassed online by trolls for being married, especially as her movie 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' was going to come out. On February 7, Kiara and Sidharth exchanged vows in an intimate wedding ceremony at Jaisalmer's Suryagarh Palace. Only a few close friends and family members came to the wedding. They started dating after meeting while producing the movie 'Shershaah' and dated for some time before getting hitched.
Kiara also discussed the controversy surrounding the couple's decision to post their wedding video online. She added that Sidharth originally objected to them posting certain details of their wedding. Manish Malhotra, a fashion designer, however, recommended them to share it with their followers. Kiara recognised that this choice had generated a lot of discussion and debate.
The actress also discussed how online bullies had a detrimental effect on her mental health. She acknowledged that, following her marriage, she had to deal with an excessive amount of criticism on social media, particularly in reference to particular parts from her movie. Kiara expressed her amazement that she was the target of jokes about being a married actor who should act a certain way. She acknowledged that this negativity had a big impact on her and that she had a hard time ignoring it.
Kiara acknowledged that one of her terrible habits is reading anything that is published about her online. She admitted that the criticism affected her, but she refrained from talking to her husband about it. Sidharth, however, had also become aware of it and handled the circumstance with maturity. Reminding her that the haters don't know her personally, he gave her the advice to ignore them.
He said ‘Look there will always be these negative trollers…but if you’re gonna give so much importance to this, be sitting at home and crying and behaving like shit has hit the roof right now. What's wrong with you? You don't know them. They don't know you. These could be like certain fans who did not like we got married. Just let it be. Why are you getting into it?' I realised if he is so mature about it, why am I sitting and feeling all of these things? Thank God I have somebody who's got wisdom, maturity and experience in this matter to tell me don't give attention to this stuff,”
He urged her to not let it emotionally affect her and to just let it be. Kiara realised that she shouldn't listen to such negativity and admired her husband's wisdom, maturity, and experience in handling such situations.
