The Coronation ceremony of King Charles III has remained the focus of interest in recent days. Sonam Kapoor was the only Indian to be invited to King Charles III's Coronation Concert. While many were perplexed as to why Sonam was given such special treatment and invitation when there are bigger and more popular Bollywood celebrities who can be invited, Sonam confidently presented a speech at the Commonwealth.
Anamika Khanna and Emilia Wickstead created the actress' floral gown and a happy Sonam uploaded the photos on social media, leaving everyone speechless.
However, looks like all did not pan out well for Sonam as her speech has sparked outrage among netizens!

Sonam Kapoor began her remarks with a Namaste and went on to say, "Our Commonwealth is a union. We make up one-third of the world's population, one-third of the world's ocean, and one-quarter of the world's land. Each of our countries is distinctive. Every one of our people is unique. But we've decided to take this one."
As the speech spread, one Reddit member responded, "This is embarrassing. As if attending the event wasn't awkward enough. It is holding a 5th grade English elocution competition. Maybe she did it on purpose, as a kind of retaliation". Another netizen described it as a "global embarrassment". Given the history between India and the British, netizens were outraged by Sonam Kapoor's decision to accept the offer.
Sunita Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor's mother, is extremely proud of her daughter. She posted an appreciation post for her daughter and shared the video on social media. Anil Kapoor also shared the video on his Instagram stories, writing, "Making us so proud." Other celebrities who performed at the Coronation concert were Tom Cruise, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, Lione Richie, and others. Sonam Kapoor will make her feature film debut with ‘Blind’.
