Apart from being one of India’s biggest filmmakers, the chat show Koffee with Karan, hosted by Karan Johar, has long been one of the most watched programmes on TV and OTT. However, the programme has also seen its fair share of criticism from viewers over the years in addition to controversies. Numerous people have criticised the programme and Karan for encouraging gossip and degrading the standard of discourse in Bollywood. While with the other seasons, the host of Koffee with Karan is currently dealing with his fair share of trolling each week as the show's seventh season is being streamed.
Karan Johar recently discussed the hate or trolling the chat show receives and referred to it as "entertaining." In an interview, Kjo said, "So, I don’t know how much of the hate and trolling is actually about the show; it’s really more about the fact that a show like this exists, and has this kind of abandon. A lot of the hate sometimes is entertaining, because I wonder why they are cursing it so much, but also watching it. I read the threads on Twitter and other portals; reels and reels of discourse that people are having about KWK… and I feel very moved and touched. I’m like, that’s a lot of time you have taken out of your lives to write such a long column on something you hated so much."
Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, who collaborated on the hugely successful movie Kabir Singh, will be seen on the upcoming episode of Koffee with Karan season 7.
