Riding high on the rousing success of her last release Mimi (2021), Kriti Sanon is quite psyched up about her films in the pipeline. She has some high-profile films on her platter, one of them being Maddock Films’ much-awaited outing Bhediya.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Bhediya is a horror comedy film which also stars Varun Dhawan in the lead role. Sanon reunites with the Badlapur (2015) actor after Dilwale (2015). Bhediya is set to be Indian cinema’s first werewolf story, and the actress seems to have notched up an unconventional role in it.
When asked about the same, Kriti Sanon tells a publication, “We have not said anything about it, though the trailer does indicate the presence of a werewolf. And why must we assume that I will play the conventional romantic lead? My role can be more character-driven. I could be playing something other than the love-interest.”
She continues, “It is a very unique role, very tricky to play. It is a world I have never inhabited. Bhediya is one of the most entertaining scripts that I have done so far. I was in splits when I heard it.”
Showering praises on her director, she says, “Amar Kaushik is a very confident director with a great grip on his storytelling. His energy on the sets is infectious. He really likes to play around with the scenes. It is a lot of fun to be directed by him.”
Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Bhediya will find its way into theatres on 25th November, 2022.
