Madhur Bhandarkar explains why he made the film India Lockdown!
Madhur Bhandarkar is back in the game, and he's prepared to once again expose the harsh realities we had to deal with during the lockdown.
Everyone's memories of the initial lockdown tragedy are still fresh, and we may never be able to forget it. And Madhur, a director known for creating somber, thought-provoking films, is now ready for India Lockdown. The tale to which everyone may relate and feel a connection. In an interview with the director he spoke on why he decided to make a movie two years after the catastrophe when virtually everyone had forgotten about it.
When we questioned Madhur if he thought now was the best time, he answered with confidence saying, "Definitely. I think historical subjects never get old, and people want to know more about them. I've seen films develop in film festivals and receive excellent reviews. Reliving the trauma while watching the movie is the goal.
Although the path hasn't been simple, the filmmaker, regarded as a daredevil, said he loves how it has taken shape.
"It was difficult for me earlier, and many other individuals find such films and subjects uncomfortable. My topics have always been crucial to the general public, in my opinion. In my life, I have produced five movies. I have never reproduced or copied a Hollywood movie, not even a biography. I've always kept to the original, and I'll keep doing it. I am a pretty straightforward storyteller and connect with people through my stories ". The OTT platform, Zee 5 will stream India Lockdown. Prateik Babbar and Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Aahana Kumra play the lead roles in India Lockdown. Tamannaah Bhatia and Babli Bouncer, Madhur's most recent offering, were a hit on OTT.
