SS Rajamouli is one of India's most talented filmmakers. He has done it all, from bringing Telugu cinema to a global audience to earning an Academy Award for RRR. This is why his name is likewise worthy of respect and excitement. Following the incredible success of 'RRR,' fans are anxiously awaiting Rajamouli's next project, which is expected to star Mahesh Babu in a role inspired by Lord Hanuman.
Now, at a recent event, Rajamouli discussed his ideal project, and hold your breath before we say it. It's the story of 'Mahabharat.' The filmmaker has been linked to the project several times, although he has never refuted or accepted to work on it. However, during a recent chat, the filmmaker described 'Mahabharata' as his dream project and discussed how he intends to make his idea a reality.
The 'Baahubali' filmmaker has admitted that Mahabharat is his ultimate ambition. He quoted, “If I get to the point of making Mahabharat, it would take me a year just to read the versions of Mahabharat that are available in the country. At present, I can only assume that it would be a 10-part film.”
Rajamouli, surprisingly, drew inspiration for his RRR characters from the Hindu mythical epics 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata.' While Ram Charan Teja's persona was partially based on Ram from the ‘Ramayana,’ Jr NTR's character was based on 'Bheema' from the ‘Mahabharat.’ His upcoming film starring Mahesh Babu is said to include a lead character based on Hanuman. It would be fascinating to watch SS Rajamouli direct a ‘Mahabharat,’ and we're sure fans are already fantasising a star-studded ensemble.
