Maja Ma: Madhuri Dixit and her middle-class family are here to take you on a journey of emotions, dancing, and mending relationships

Today saw the release of the eagerly awaited film Maja Ma trailer. The film portrays Madhuri Dixit, the queen of Bollywood, as a sophisticated and bold character. After the Netflix series The Fame Game, the movie will be Madhuri's second OTT release and will star her as a dancer who must deal with her son's desire to get married. Apart from her, the film features Ritwik Bhowmik as her son, Barkha Singh, Gajraj Rao, Srishti Srivastav, Rajit Kapur, Simone Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, Malhar Thakar, and Ninad Kamat.

Maja Ma will premiere on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on October 6

The family comedy-drama focuses on the life of Madhuri's jovial and benevolent character Pallavi, who serves as the foundation of her straightforward, middle-class family. Ritwik, who plays her son, passionately states at the opening of the film that he adores her. But as things begin to get out of hand, her son's engagement is threatened, and the future in-laws threaten to leave for the US. The movie depicts all kinds of emotions and is a mirror of what happens in a middle-class family. It also offers a part that will empower Madhuri, who claims at the film's conclusion that she is more than simply someone's wife or mother; she has her own identity. How will the upheaval be handled by Pallavi and her family? Will this strengthen the bonds between the families or cause them to fall apart?

Talking about his character and the film, Ritwik shared, “Tejas is a sincere yet aspirational young man. He is still finding himself, traversing his ambitions and his intrinsic value system. Maja Ma is also my third time working with the director, Anand Tiwari. He brings out the best in us, in the most effortless manner. I am truly enthralled to have shared this space with so many talented actors in the industry. This role is very special for me as it is my debut movie and my third outing on Prime Video. What will stay with me is the experience we had in bringing this movie to life – such a great time with one big happy family on the sets.”
