Malaika Arora recalls her parents' divorce and how she learned to embrace her 'freedom and live life'

Malaika Arora has proven herself to be a boss babe time and time again. She has worked as a model, a reality show judge, a dancer, and an Instagram influencer who enjoys a massive fan following. Malaika highlighted in a recent media interview that she learned early on to live freely and love her life.
Despite having a great childhood, she admitted that circumstances were not always simple for her. She talked about the lessons she learned after her parents divorced and how, after they parted ways, she saw her mother in a new perspective.
The actress said in the interview, "My parents' separation allowed me to observe my mother through a new and unique lens. I learned a rock-steady work ethic and the value of getting up each morning to do whatever it takes to become fiercely independent."
She went on to say that the lessons she learned through their split helped her grow in the industry. "I value my freedom and live life on my terms. The world could be going crazy around me, but these fundamental attitudes imbibed during my formative years hold me in good stead," said the 48-year-old actress.
Malaika separated from actor Arbaaz Khan in 2017. They married in 1998, but after 19 years of marriage, they filed for divorce citing compatibility concerns. They are co-parenting their son Arhaan Khan.
