Manushi Chhillar on debuting alongside Akshay Kumar in Prithviraj
Prithviraj, based on the life and courage of the intrepid and great Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, is Yash Raj Films' first historical offering. The trailer for the film was released today. Superstar Akshay Kumar plays the great warrior who bravely fought the cruel invader Muhammad of Ghor. The film's teaser was released last year to tremendous response. The teaser also introduced Manushi Chhillar as Princess Sanyogita, and the stunning diva appears to be overwhelmed by the magnitude of her Bollywood debut.
Manushi opened up about working with Akshay Kumar and being a part of Prithviraj during the trailer launch, stating that it would always be a special film for her. “I mean it's my first film so it will always be special. I am fortunate that I got to work with Akshay sir, Yash Raj has launched me and Doctor Saab directed my first film. So definitely Prithviraj is very special to me,” said the former Miss World.
Prithviraj will also feature Sonu Sood, Sanjay Dutt, and Manav Vij in the prominent roles, in addition to Manushi and Akshay.
Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who directed the biggest television epic Chanakya (1991)– based on the life and times of India's most prominent political strategist and the multiple award-winning Pinjar (2003), is directing Prithviraj, which is produced by Yash Raj Films. Prithviraj is due on June 3.
