‘Munna Bhai 3 might never happen,’ says Arshad Warsi
Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) starring Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt was a tremendous success. The audience was enthralled by their chemistry in the film as Munna and Circuit. Later, Rajkumar Hirani released the sequel, Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), which was likewise well-received. The producers had announced that there will be a third installment of Munna Bhai, and that they are currently working on the script. Arshad has now stated that Munna Bhai 3 might never be made.
When asked about the likelihood of a third installment in the franchise, Arshad said, “Munna Bhai MBBS resurrected my career. I had no movies for three-four years before that. I was out of sight, gone! When will the next film in the Munnabhai series return? We have been waiting for 16 years since Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Honestly, I don’t think Part 3 will happen. I wish it would, that we could have a proper closure. We owe that much to the audience, but it’s been too long.”
“A creative person feels claustrophobic if he is asked to do the same thing over and over again. As an actor, I want to move on. I’m sure Raju wants to do different things too, more so because for a director each film takes a few years of his life,” he continued.
In terms of work, Warsi was recently seen in Modern Love Mumbai (2022), an Amazon Prime Video anthology.
