Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda enjoys the same social media fame as a Bollywood diva despite being out of the movie business. She is close friends with Big B and recently joined him at a health telethon where specialists also talked about ways to improve women's health. At the time, Navya stated that talking about menstruation in public in front of her grandfather was a positive development. She also mentioned that she was raised in a family where she could have these dialogues that are still taboo in other homes.

Rashmika Mandanna and Dia Mirza also came to the NDTV event. Amitabh concurred with Rashmika after she remarked that teens today find it awkward to talk to their parents about taboo subjects and that he views menstruation as a"sign of enjoyment." Navya agreed that it symbolizes life, just as her grandfather had said. There's no reason to be ashamed or fearful of doing it. Even though menstruation has traditionally been stigmatized, advancements have been achieved. Being on stage now discussing periods with my grandfather is development in and of itself. We have advanced, not just as women but as a nation, as evidenced by the fact that we are here on a podium with plenty of people watching us and discussing menstruation openly.
It's beautiful that males have joined in this endeavor to a de-stigmatize conversation about menstruation, Navya continued. More crucially, at home, as that is where change always starts. Before discussing their bodies in public, women should feel secure and at ease in their homes. I grew up in a home where I felt at ease having these discussions.
