Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar to headline Sudhir Mishra’s Afwaah
While Nawazuddin Siddiqui has previously worked with Mishra on Serious Men (2020), Bhumi Pednekar is collaborating with Sudhir Mishra for the first time.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar are set to join forces for an upcoming film, titled Afwaah. Well-known filmmaker Anubhav Sinha will bankroll the project under his production house, Benaras MediaWorks. Sudhir Mishra, known for helming Chameli (2003), Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2005), and Yeh Saali Zindagi (2011), is onboard to direct the film.
“It is a story I have lived with for a long time and I have only worked each day to make it quirky and twisted. Beneath all of the quirkiness lies a crucial message which I want my viewers to take back home with them,” Mishra said in a statement.
The statement further read, “Bhumi and Nawaz are both such powerhouse performers and together they bring a fresh chemistry. I cannot wait to be on set with them.”
While Siddiqui has previously worked with Mishra on Netflix’s Serious Men (2020), Pednekar is set to collaborate with the acclaimed filmmaker for the first time. More details on the film are expected to arrive soon.
