Akshay Kumar fans want a masala flick. However, seeing the star on the big screen may take longer than planned. 'Oh My God 2' is expected to premiere via OTT, with Voot and Jio theatres bidding for it. If one of the producers, the ‘Sooyavanshi’ actor, opts for theatres, things may change. If everything goes well, fans may enjoy Hera Pheri on the big screen.
Akshay Kumar's technique determines 'Oh My God 2.' After finishing Ali Abbas Zafar's 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan,' the actor will take over.
Times Of India said that 'Oh My God 2's' releasing path hinges on Akshay Kumar. “The makers of OMG2 have not decided on the release medium yet. But one thing is for sure. They are still figuring out the permutations. The decision to go for a straight-to-OTT release over a theatrical run cannot be taken without consulting the film’s star and co-producer Akshay Kumar. Since Akshay has been busy with the shoot of 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan' in Scotland and other foreign locations, this decision of OMG2’s release has been on hold. The team will convene once Akshay is back in Mumbai, and only then will the way ahead be formalised.”
Due to its content, B and C-tier cities may promote OMG 2 if it goes theatrical. This is the same audience as 'Raksha Bandhan' and 'Ram Setu,' last year's flops.
