It's not at all strange that Akshay Kumar is receiving a lot of criticism for the Lord Shiva ka doot portrayal in ‘OMG 2.’ Internet users have been calling his role an insult to Hindu gods. And the level of animosity towards the superstar is so high that one Hindu organisation is said to have saved Rs 10 lakh in reward money for anyone who slaps the actor; this just serves to highlight our tolerance. A Hindu organisation in Agra has offered Rs 10 lakh in rewards to anyone who slaps or spits on a Bollywood star for offending the sensibilities of the populace by portraying Lord Shiva's messenger.

The Rashtriya Hindu Parishad Bharat, on the other hand, declared on Thursday that they would not back down from even protesting outside of theatres and burning Akshay Kumar's effigies and the movie's posters. ‘OMG 2’ has brought unwanted controversy and attention to Akshay Kumar, which will undoubtedly have an impact on box office performance. The movie only made 10 crore rupees on its first day of release, and given the controversy it has generated, we doubt it will remain in theatres for an extended period of time.
According to organisation president Govind Parashar, who has kept these rewards for slapping on the actor, Akshay Kumar, who plays Lord Shiva's messenger, has belittled the god by wearing dreadlocks to boot, purchasing kachodis, and possibly even taking a bath in a filthy pond saree in the movie. All of these actions harm the god's reputation. Many people are criticising the movie and accusing it of sinful sentimental manipulation.
Fans of Akshay Kumar applaud him for being such a daredevil and bringing up issues that are urgently needed, and they are astounded to see him portray Lord Shiva on the big screen.
