The preview for the long-awaited sequel to the popular satirical comedy 'Oh My God' has finally come out, and fans are thrilled. The well-known actor Akshay Kumar is the star of the movie, which is set to come out on August 11. Kumar plays Lord Shiva, which is an interesting change since he played Lord Krishna in the original film from 2012.

Fans are excited to see the movie in theatres because the newly released teaser has lived up to their expectations. But even before it came out in theatres, the movie already had a place on an OTT (Over-The-Top) website where it could be watched online. This is different from the usual way of doing things, which is to wait for box office numbers and a run in theatres before deciding on a digital platform. In recent years, the movie business has changed. Many productions now choose to secure OTT platforms before they come out.
Akshay Kumar himself hinted at the movie's OTT platform in an Instagram post where he shared the 'Oh My God 2' preview. One name that stood out in the post was that of Jyoti Deshpande, who is a director at Jio Cinemas. This makes it very likely that 'Oh My God 2' will use Jio Cinema as its OTT outlet. But neither the people who made it nor the channel have said anything publicly about it yet. Even though the PR team for the movie has been reached, no word has been received. Even so, it looks very possible that the movie will be on Jio Cinema.
In the past, producers usually decided on OTT channels after the movie came out in theatres, based on how well it did at the box office. But the current trend is for production teams to sign OTT deals ahead of time. This makes sure that the movie will be available online after its run in theatres. Also, a new rule says that a movie can't be launched on OTT platforms until it has been in theatres for at least eight weeks, or two months. This rule says that you can't be online early.

Using these rules, 'Oh My God 2,' which is set to come out on August 11, 2023, is likely to be available to watch online in October, probably on Jio Cinema. Akshay Kumar plays the same character from the first movie in this one, but Paresh Rawal turned down the chance to be in it. Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam are added to the group instead. The movie is directed by Amit Rai and looks at the Indian school system. 'Oh My God 2,' which will be in theatres in August 2023, is co-produced by Cape of Good Films, Viacom 18 Studios, and Wakaoo Films.
