In Mom, everyone loved Sajal Aly and Sridevi's on-screen chemistry. Sajal is also in contact with Janhvi Kapoor, whom she met while filming Mom with Sridevi. Sajal says she was close to Sridevi and believes the renowned actress died far too young. Sridevi died in 2018 due to unforeseeable circumstances. Sajal believes it is regrettable that the artists must suffer as a result of political tensions between the two countries.

She claims that Sridevi was very close to her and that they did not simply work together. Sajal recalls Sridevi meeting her mother when they visited India. Sajal’s mother died before the film ‘Mom’ was released. Sridevi died a few months later. Sajal describes how they would converse on the phone for hours and the seasoned actress would guide her as a mother would. "I really miss her," Sajal tells the online entertainment portal.
