Ramesh Taurani has officially confirmed the sequel to his blockbuster film Ishq Vishk (2003), which was released 20 years ago. The 2003 film marked Shahid Kapoor's big Bollywood debut. Ishq Vishq will return in the form of Ishq Vishk Rebound two decades later. With this film, Pashmina Roshan, Hrithik Roshan's cousin, will make her Bollywood debut. Jibraan Khan, who appeared as a child actor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), will also star in the film. The film will also star Rohit Saraf and Naila Grewal.
All of the actors of Ishq Vishk Rebound revealed the first look from the film on June 2. Pashmina, who is ecstatic to be making her film debut, also penned a statement while revealing her first look. Taking to Instagram, the newcomer wrote, "It feels like years of austerity and hard work are finally bearing fruits. I'm extremely excited, nervous, and elated to bring to you my first experience on screen: When relationships can be found on apps, and lost over a chat, you know that love needs an upgrade. ISHQ VISHK REBOUND. It's time to move on. (sic)."
The 2003 film Ishq Vishq is about Rajiv (Kapoor) and Payal (Rao), who have been friends since childhood. Payal is in love with Rajiv, but it takes him a long time to reciprocate her sentiments. The film was a commercial success.
