'Pippa,' a recent biographical war film featuring Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur, and Priyanshu Painyuli, faced a controversy when AR Rahman, the Oscar-winning composer, rendered Bengali poet Nazrul Islam's patriotic song 'Karar Oi Louho Kopat' for the movie.

Makers Issued An Apology Statement For Remix:

Despite initial positive feedback, Rahman's version received criticism from netizens. In response, the makers, Roy Kapur Films, issued an apology on Instagram, asserting that they had obtained the necessary adaptation rights for the late Mr. Kazi Nazrul Islam's work.

They clarified that the rendition was a sincere artistic interpretation, created in adherence to the license agreement with the late Mrs. Kalyani Kazi and witnessed by Mr. Anirban Kazi. The statement emphasized the intention to pay homage to the song's cultural significance while staying within the agreed-upon terms, allowing them to use the lyrics with a new composition.
