For the second time in only two years, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and Bollywood director-producer Karan Johar will collaborate on a Kajol-starring picture. Ibrahim, the son of Saif Ali Khan, will make his acting debut in the Kayoze Irani-directed movie, which is being hailed as an intense thriller.
After Aiyya, Aurangzeb, and Naam Shabana, the movie will be Prithviraj's fourth Bollywood project and his first collaboration with Kajol. The film's financier, Karan's Dharma Productions, previously collaborated with Prithviraj's production business Prithviraj Productions to support the Bollywood adaptation of Driving Licence, Selfiee. Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi play the key roles in the latter movie, which will be released in theatres the following year.
Recently, Prithviraj posted a photo from Mumbai, indicating that he was in negotiations for a Bollywood film. According to rumours, the actor was actually hard at work on the Netflix web series' premiere episode, which is based on the life of Biscuit Baron Rajan Pillai. But it turns out that the Kaduva actor spoke with Ibrahim and Kajol as part of "ice-breaking sessions" before the movie's shooting in January 2023, as well as the director Kayoze of the future film.
According to a report, the film reportedly centres around three roles played by the lead actors, who will also participate in rigorous script-reading sessions and acting workshops in December.
Prithviraj will star alongside Nayanthara in Alphonse Puthren's Gold, which will be his next significant film to be released. The film, which the actor also co-produced, will be released in theatres on December 1. Later in December, Prithviraj will also have another release when Shaji Kailas' gangster thriller Kaapa is made available.
