The Last Film Show (Chhello Show), directed by Pan Nalin, has given India hope that it may win an Academy Award this year. Priyanka gave a special screening of the film at her residence in Los Angeles as a show of support for the film.

Pictures from their gathering at PC's house, where the actress was also seen speaking about single screen theatres, were shared online by producer David Dubinsky. "With Priyanka Chopra, actress, model, and producer (wife of Nick Jonas) at the movie screening and reception of Last Film Show, a coming of age drama of a boy from a remote village in India who discovers the joys of the movie theater just as digital projection changes the game. It is India's submission to the Academy Awards and was just shortlisted in Best International feature film category,” Davi had divulged.
While SS Rajamouli's "RRR" has made its way on the list for its upbeat song "Naatu Naatu," "The Last Film "Show (Chhello Show)" has marked its inclusion in the list for the International Feature Film category shortlists for the 2023 Oscars.
THE LAST FILM SHOW
India's official Oscar entry is Last Film Show, which Siddharth Roy Kapur and Dheer Momaya both produced and directed. In a Saurashtra village, it chronicles the story of a young child's development and his relationship with cinema. In spite of being unaware of the catastrophic events that will occur, it follows nine-year-old Samay (Bhavin Rabari), a film enthusiast, as he conquers the skies and the earth in search of his 35mm fantasies.
The movie has been nominated for and screened at numerous prestigious film festivals across the globe, including Tribeca and the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema. Additionally, it won best film at the Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles.
PRIYANKA ON THE WORK FRONT
In terms of her career, Priyanka Chopra will shortly start filming for her upcoming Bollywood movie, "Jee Le Zaraa." This road trip drama, directed by Farhan Akhtar, also features Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in the key roles.
