Bheed was Rajkummar Rao's first collaboration with Anubhav Sinha, and he spent the last few months of 2021 shooting it. The actor is slated to reunite with the director even before the social drama hits the screens. Rao is expected to star in Sinha's short film in the upcoming anthology film, which the director announced in July. Anubhav Sinha, according to a news source, thought Raj was the ideal choice for this short film set against the backdrop of the pandemic.
Sudhir Mishra, Hansal Mehta, and Ketan Mehta are among the filmmakers who have contributed to this anthology. This anthology will also feature Taapsee Pannu and Parambrata Chatterjee, in addition to the Citylights (2014) actor.
Rajkummar had already shared his excitement about working with Anubhav Sinha on Bheed. He said in an interview, “I have always found myself gravitating towards stories that trigger conversation. Even as an entertainer, I want my work to get people thinking. This is an important subject and the character needs me to stretch myself as an artist, beyond my comfort zone. I can't wait to start shooting and lose myself in this universe."
Taapsee also expressed her excitement to work with Sudhir Mishra on the project, revealing that the short film will be a socio-political drama spanning two generations.
Speaking of the work front, Rajkummar Rao is set to star alongside Janhvi Kapoor in Mr and Mrs Mahi and Sanya Malhotra in HIT: The First Case.
