'Ramayan,' an ambitious effort by Nitesh Tiwari, has been circulated online for a long time. The movie was reportedly put on hold because the producers couldn't find an actor to play Ravana's part, but it now appears that their hunt is over. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Yash will play the key roles, according to the popular news report. The movie is most likely to begin production in December of this year.
A source revealed to a popular news portal, “Over the last few weeks, Ranbir Kapoor has been spotted visiting the DNEG office, to check on the progress of Ramayana. The pre-visualization of the world has already been done and the team is now doing look tests with Ranbir to play Lord Ram. The purpose of the visit has been to get the right look for Ranbir as on getting it right, he will then step into the physical transformation aspect.”
According to the source, Ranbir is portraying Lord Ram and Alia Bhatt is Sita. However, it is anticipated that a formal announcement will be made this Diwali.
The source also revealed, “Yash is yet to sign the dotted lines, but Madhu is confident to have Yash on board the film. There are some minor issues, and once they are resolved, Nitesh and Madhu would have things on paper with Yash.” Sai Pallavi, however, was reportedly contacted for the role of Sita, according to earlier reports. However, nothing in this regard has been made official.
Allu Aravind, Madhu Mantena, and Namit Malhotra will produce 'Ramayana,' and Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar will serve as the film's director. It is anticipated that the film will go on floors in December 2023 or January 2024.
In terms of her professional career, Alia Bhatt will shortly make her Hollywood debut with the movie 'Heart of Stone,' in which Gal Gadot also appears. Additionally, she will appear in Karan Johar's 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.'
