Randeep Hooda and Akshay Oberoi are prepared to reprise their roles in the sequel, which will be released seven years after the original film, Laal Rang. The blood trade was a central theme in the Haryana-set black comedy directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal. Oberoi appeared as Rajesh, a young man who joins Hooda's business and gains rapid money, while Hooda portrayed the proprietor of an illicit blood bank.
AKSHAY OBEROI IS EAGER TO PLAY RAJESH ONCE MORE
The actor, who is eager to play Rajesh once more, explains that the second installment would continue where the first one left off. “My character started out as a wide-eyed boy who wants to take the world by storm, and realises that you have to be knocked down by life to be able to see it. It was a grounded film, and its sequel cannot be a brand new story [in a different world],” says Oberoi.
If everything goes according to plan, Afzal will return to the director's chair for the sequel, which will premiere later this year. Oberoi talks about reconciling with Hooda, whom he regards as "one of the best in the business," with obvious passion in his voice. “It was my third or fourth movie. I have done a lot of work since. Earlier, I was trying to stay afloat. Now, I will be able to learn new things from him and absorb more.”
