Following the death of vocalist Lata Mangeshkar, India has now lost another gem, with the news that singer Bappi Lahiri died at the age of 69. The 'King of Disco' has passed away, and the entire country is in grief!

While many celebrities expressed their sadness through his pictures, Ranveer Singh took to his Instagram handle and posted a carousel of pictures with the legendary singer. In the pictures, he is seen sharing the stage with his idol. The first picture is a still of the two performing together at an award function, followed by second slide which is a video of Ranveer Singh paying honour to Bappi Da in front of the crowd. In the third slide, Ranveer narrates the life of Bappi Da and his contribution to the music industry, followed by a picture where the duo is posing together for a stylish picture. Along with the pictures, Ranveer Singh wrote the caption, “Thank you for the music Thank you for the memories

There never has been & never will be anyone like you #BappiDa lives forever. He is a self-proclaimed fan of Bappi Da.

Bappi Da once stated that he wanted Ranveer Singh to play him in a biopic when he was younger. Bappi Lahiri previously discussed how filmmakers approached him about developing a film about his life. While speaking about it, the legendary singer-composer stated that while nothing has been finalised, he would love to see actor Ranveer Singh play a younger version of himself.

Bappi Da passed away on 16th February, 2022 at CritiCare hospital, Chembur, Mumbai. “Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight.” said doctor Deepak Namjoshi, the director of CritiCare hospital.
