Raveena Tandon was one of the most popular actresses in the 1990s. She is currently enjoying the success of her film, KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), which has smashed a slew of records at the box office.
Apart from being an ace performer, Tandon is also well known for her no-filter approach. In a recent interview, she revealed how the media fat-shamed her and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan when they welcomed a child.
She does, however, recollect defending Aishwarya Rai after she was criticized for her weight gain following the birth of her daughter Aaradhya. Raveena also recalled being body-shamed shortly after giving birth to her son.
The Andaz Apna Apna (1994) actress said in an interview, “There was a time when I had put on a lot of weight after I just delivered my son. And I remember, I started working after that and there was a press conference and that time, they were fat-shaming me, they were fat-shaming Aishwarya Rai and I stood up for her at that time and I said she just had a baby.”
She further added, “I remember this journalist saying to me at a conference, ‘Arey Raveenaji, aap kitni moti ho gayi hai. Aap to mast mast hua karti thi, ab aap reality show kar rahi hai. So, I said, ‘Dekhiye bhai sahab, motapa to ghat jayega, lekin aapki surat kaise badal payegi?’
Raveena Tandon will next be seen in Ghudchadhi alongside Sanjay Dutt.
