Currently, Deepika Padukone is one of Bollywood's most gifted actresses. The actress has a number of intriguing movies in the works, following her appearance in Gehraiyaan with Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa. Even though she is one of the most well-known actors in Bollywood today, the issue of female pay discrepancy and unequal remuneration in the film industry also affects her. Deepika Padukone once argued against the practice of male actors being paid far more than female actors, which has long been a topic of discussion.

Due to the gender pay gap, Deepika Padukone admitted she declined a role in a movie

Deepika Padukone raised the issue of the compensation disparity between male and female Bollywood stars a few years ago. It has been an essential topic of conversation for a long, and in 2019, the actress talked about her experiences with gender pay discrepancy and how she once turned down a role because she felt it was unjust that she was paid less than her male colleague. "I am aware of my background and my worth. I know his movies haven't performed as well as mine. It was completely illogical. Based solely on that, she said I felt free to decline because I didn't think it was worth seeing.

She continued, "I'm prepared to make those choices for myself because I want to be able to sleep soundly at night. She said I don't think I'll be able to bear the concept that I was a part of a movie, contributed equally creatively, or added value to a movie while getting paid inadequately.
