Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani: Alia Bhatt Starrer ‘Kudmayi’ Song OUT NOW; Says ‘It Gives Butterflies’

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani's latest song 'Kudmayi' is out today. Alia Bhatt? who is playing the title character of 'Rani' in the movie, posted the song on social media with the caption, "This song gives me ???????????? (butterflies) every single time! #kudmayi OUT NOW!"

Well, it's not just Alia Bhatt. Singer Shahid Mallya too had the same feeling while recording 'Kudmayi'!

While revealing about the song from the Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer, Shahid Mallya said, “I got call from Pritam Da’s office like as usual. When I went to meet him, and we discussed the song and lyrics, all the nostalgic movements of my sister's marriage started floating in front of my eyes. I sang this song two years back for the movie but, as time went on, we made some changes in terms of lyrics, composition and scale and finally recorded it once the release date of the movie was got finalized. But the most beautiful thing about working on this song was every time I went to sing it, it felt fresh. Jaise kal hi gaya tha. (Like I sang it yesterday only.)”

Every time Shahid Mallya sang 'Kudmayi' song while recording in the studio or while watching it after release, he got emotional. “’Kudmayi’ is Punjabi word which means Roka or Rishta Jud Jana. Whenever I used to go for sittings or recording for this song, all that emotions where I used to play and have fun with my sisters and suddenly, they got married and we gave them vidayii used to come in front of my eyes. Its mixed feeling when you let your family member go to become a part of someone else’s family expecting she will be happy ever after. Karan Johar has depicted that emotion of every girl very well in the movie. After seeing picturization of the song even my eyes filled with the water,” Shahid Mallya shared in an emotional voice.
