Akshay Kumar has made his mark in Bollywood with memorable performances in several blockbuster films. Some of his movies are getting sequels, but instead of casting him as the lead, directors are looking for fresh faces. Kartik Aaryan took over the lead role from Khiladi Kumar, who had previously starred in the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa back in 2007. The Shehzada actor received such high praise for stepping into the role that he was eventually asked to play the lead in Hera Pheri 3. Sidharth Malhotra will also play the lead role in the sequel to another film in which Akshay Kumar was previously cast.
The Shershah actor is said to be taking over for Akshay Kumar in the upcoming sequel to Rowdy Rathore. Malhotra, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, is in talks to play a leading role in the action drama's sequel. Shabina Khan has been working on Rowdy Rathore 2 for a while now, but she had to wait for the timing to be right. Rowdy Rathore 2 currently has Shabina Khan in talks to play the police officer, according to sources.
According to rumours, Sidharth Malhotra is interested in the role but is unsure whether or not to play a cop other than in Rohit Shetty's cop universe. In a web series starring Shilpa Shetty and himself, the actor plays a police officer. Although nothing has been officially announced as of yet, production on the film could begin within the next two months.
Shabina Khan, who produced the first Rowdy Rathore, will team up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who financed the sequel. Producers are currently in talks with a top director who delivered a blockbuster last year, but there has been no confirmation of the cast. Rowdy Rathore 2 will reportedly star Siddharth Malhotra, and filming will begin by the end of May.

The first question everyone will ask now is, "Is Akshay Kumar going to be in Rowdy Rathore 2?" Well, there has been no word on whether or not the actor will return for the sequel to the film he was in back in 2012, in which he played both a thug and a cop.
