Salman Khan has achieved a level of stardom that few people ever attain. He earned his fame through hard work, acknowledging and rectifying his mistakes publicly, and showing dedication to his family as a devoted son and brother. During an interview from his early days, Salman recounted a challenging period his family went through. However, being young at the time, he didn't fully grasp the significance of financial struggles. He fondly recalled how they used to have breakfast at an uncle's house, savoring ginger tea and currant buns during those morning visits, as his father, Salim Khan, faced financial difficulties. He said, “Dad wasn’t doing too well then. We had to brush our teeth and rush over to Uncle Goudinho’s house for breakfast… I knew there was no money.”
However, Salman Khan also recollected instances when his mischievous behavior led to unfortunate outcomes and resulted in him receiving disciplinary measures from Salim Khan. “But I was a kid, a naughty sort who even burnt up dad’s entire month’s salary. I set a match to seven hundred rupee notes. It was a stupid thing to do… I don’t blame dad for hitting me, for beating the daylights out of me,” the actor recalled.
Despite the hardships, Salman's mischievous nature sometimes led to his father's anger and disciplinary measures. He shared an incident from the past where he imitated trapeze artists after watching a circus show, resulting in a fractured arm. Despite the fracture, his father's anger was understandable.
Did these experiences impact Salman Khan's relationship with Salim Khan, leading to any bitterness or hostility between them? The actor responded, “No, I respect dad. He’s the only one I’ve looked up to. But I’m closer to mom. I can talk to her about anything. I couldn’t tell dad that I’d banged up the car or failed in my school exams but I could tell mom.”
